Mayawati's man, BSP worker shot dead ahead of UP poll 2012

Lucknow, Feb 7: 24-year-old Dhirendra Yadav - a worker of Mayawati's party - Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) was shot dead. Mr Yadav was first beaten up by some unidentified assailants and then killed by the attackers.

According to sources, Mr Yadav was an active participant in campaigning for BSP candidate Manish Yadav, who is contesting from Jaswant Nagar constituency for the upcoming assemble election in Uttar Pradesh.

Other BSP party workers were shocked when they received news about the tragedy. Mr Yadav was attacked while he was distributing his marriage ceremony cards. His wedding was scheduled to be held on Feb 10.

Meanwhile, in an another case, BSP candidate Rambhual Nishad was arrested over several charges including rioting. Nishad was taken under custody following an incident where he allegedly thrashed Congress candidate and TV actress - Kajal Nishad during campaigning.
