Facebook, Google obey Delhi HC, remove objectionable content

New Delhi, Feb 6: Citing the warning from Delhi High Court, Google, Facebook on Monday, Feb 6 announced that they have removed few pages from their sites which earlier were carrying sleazy and objectionable content.

The sites removed the content following a petition filed by Vinay Rai, a Delhi resident. Getting to know about "obscene and inflammatory content" posted on the sites such as morphed pictures of Hindu gods and the Prophet Mohammed, Mr Rai moved a court seeking the removal of such content.

However, finally the sites informed that those objectionable images and content have been removed from some of the pages of Facebook and Google.

However, all eyes will be on Delhi High Court as the court is expected to pronounce its crucial verdict on censorship issue posted on internet and other social networking sites.
