After Barbie dolls, Iran intends to shun Simpsons dolls too

In an effort to block Western culture, the decision to block such dolls was made by the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, according to reports that appeared in the independent Shargh daily.
The report however failed to mention why the institute's Mohammad Hossein Farjoo chose to ban the Simpson's toys in the country. He mentions that any doll on genitals are distinguishable, as well as dolls of adults, are banned.
In Jan this year, police claimed that they closed down dozens of toy shops for selling Barbie dolls.
Iran has been trying hard to rid itself of all sorts of cultural influences, especially since the 1979 Islamic revolution that ousted a pro-Western monarchy.
