IT-giant Wipro's hiring to be handled by Business unit

Bangalore, Feb 5: The IT hiring of the Wipro Technologies will now be handled by newly created 'business operations unit' headed by Bhanumurthy BM, senior vice-president.

The IT recruitment division manages the hiring at Wipro Technologies, expect for handling the senior leadership positions. The business unit of Wipro was carved out two months ago.

"The IT recruitment team will be responsible for hiring, training and development. Earlier this was reporting to chief global delivery officer Sambuddha Deb and head of quality Jagdish Ramaswamy. Since their functions are now being headed by Bhanumurthy all the delivery recruitment will now come under him," said a senior executive in the company.

According to company executives, this division would be better equipped to hire for the profiles for the divison it needs. The company has been working towards creating "one Wipro" that will run in a cohisive manner.

Wipro has also made a lot of changes in its leadership team.
