UP: Mulayam Singh Yadav joins Rahul Gandhi, shoe hurled

Lucknow, Feb 5: Now Samajwadi Party chief, Mulayam Singh Yadav joined Rahul Gandhi after being attacked with a shoe during an election campaign rally in Uttar Pradesh. Singh was in Baberu on Saturday, Feb 4 when a woman hurled her slipper on Singh.

However, the slipper did not hit the Samajwadi Party supremo. Meanwhile, the woman, who has been detained by police, claimed that she was a rape victim and was promised Rs 2 lakh in 2006.

Justifying her act, the woman claimed that Mulayam Singh did not fulfill his promise and she has not yet received the money promised by the Samajwadi Party chief in 2006.

Here it can be recalled that Congress' Rahul Gandhi also faced similar kind of incident during election campaign. Earlier shoe was hurled at Rahul during a rally in Dehradun on Jan 23.
