After 2G breather, Chidambaram still mum but BJP guns for HM
Citing the trial court's verdict on Chidambaram, BJP spokesperson, Ravi Shankar Prasad on Saturday, Feb 4 said, "This is the order of the very first court. There are other hierarchies of courts and Subramanian Swamy has clearly said that he will approach the High Court and the Supreme Court."
Criticising the home minister, Prasad also added, "As far as political accountability of P Chidambaram, the then finance minister, is concerned, in view of overwhelming evidence which is there in public domain, the BJP shall continue to insist for accountability inside and outside Parliament."
Chidambaram, who reached Tirunelveli to address a public meeting to support early commissioning of the Kudankulam nuclear power project, did not give any statement on the ttrial court's verdict which rejected a plea to make Chidambaram an accused in the 2G case holding that he did not indulge in any criminal conspiracy or derived any pecuniary advantage from the decisions taken with former Telecom Minister A Raja.
