Mullaperiyar: Karuna disappointed with Sonia,Manmohan & Jaya
"The Jayalalithaa government not taking any action in this matter gives rise to an impression that there is some intention on its part... therefore, keeping in mind national interests, the central and state governments should act to find an early solution," said Karunanidhi.
The DMK chief also has been quoted as saying, "The Centre should implement this with the help of the state government and find a lasting solution to the issue and thus uphold the nation's unity and federal structure."
One of the key-alliances of the UPA government, DMK had threatened Manmohan Singh and Jayalalithaa government to start nation-wide agitation if both governments fail to bring solution for fishermen row where Sri Lankan navy has been continuing their ire against Tamil Nadu fishermen.
