Cyber Crime: Man arrested for harassing ex-wife

In 2004, his ex-wife and his family registered a complaint against Sanaulla Faisal, reported by U Ramamohan, Additional Director General of Police, CID.
Within one year of their marriage, Faisal started harassing his wife. Due to sexual harassment, the wife filed for divorce. After that Faisal created a false profile on the name of the victim on a matrimonial site and posted some obscene comments and pictures with the intention to take revenge. Divorce made him to take revenge from his wife and her family members.
While investigating for the case, Police raided Faisal's house, seized his camera and computer and sent it for forensic examination.
Faisal was convicted on Feb 1, 2012 after the forensic reports came and he was sentenced for one year imprisonment with a fine of Rs 12,000.
"We have arrested 30 people for cyber crimes. We recently caught a doctor and some engineers," said said U Ramamohan.
