TN: Jaya evicts DMDK members including Vijayakanth

Chennai, Feb 1: Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa evicted DMDK members from the assembly on Wednesday, Feb 1.

The members were evicted after there was a war of words between Jayalalithaa and the DMDK.

The step was taken by the Chief Minister after DMDK MLA, Chandrakumar questioned Jayalalithaa over the recent price hike in the state. He also asked her as to why the step wasn't taken by her before the civic polls to which she replied that despite of the price hike, the AIADMK will come to power in the Sankarankovil by-polls.

She further challenged the DMDK to contest alone in the Sankarankovil by-polls following which there was a uproar in the assembly that led to the eviction of the DMDK members.

Jayalalithaa in the assembly said that she regretted joining hands with the DMDK.
