Deadly BSNL phone: Bangalore student electrocuted

The accident occurred in the early morning of Tuesday, Jan 31. The victim, Manjunath S Gopal was a resident of Doddakallasandra in South Bangalore.
The mother of the deceased has been quoted as saying, "He shouted as he touched the receiver. We saw him writhing in pain. We shifted him to a hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead."
Police, during their investigation, suspected that norms on height seem to have been violated while constructing the building where the family of the deceased reside.
Stating on the investigation, the police informed, "It is true that high-tension wires caused the death. We are yet to verify which part of the building the wires came in contact with. We are initiating legal action against BSNL and Bescom."
The deceased's house was in the second floor and high-tension electricity wires pass by the same building which is reportedly connected with Banashankari power station.
