Illegal mining: Janardhana Reddy's bail denied for 4th time

Hyderabad, Jan 31: A special CBI court on Tuesday, Jan 31 overruled the bail plea of Janardhana Reddy who has been lodged in a jail in Andhra Pradesh over his alleged role in illegal mining scam in and around Bellary, Karnataka.

The court on Tuesday announced that the investigative agency needs more time to accomplish its investigation on Reddy's alleged role in the scam which is believed to have been scattered from Karnataka to Andhra Pradesh.

This was the fourth time when the former Karnataka minister's bail plea was being rejected. Here it can be recalled that the special CBI court earlier had extended judicial custody of the mining baron along with three other accused till Jan 25.

Janardhana Reddy along with brother-in-law and OMC Managing Director B V Srinivas Reddy has been sent to Chanchalguda Jail in Hyderabad.
