Woman conceals marital status to own a scooty

Jaipur, Jan 30: In a shocking incident, a married woman has claimed herself to be unmarried to own her desired two-wheeler under the state government plan to promote education among girls of specially backward classes (SBCs).

Woman named Rupa filled the application form declaring herself as single though she was married for more than two years. Moreover, Rup's father also declared in the form that her daughter is unmarried.

Unfortunately, a small mistake on her part baffled her chance to ride a scooty as she attached her husband’s income statement along with the application showing her under BPL category.

According to state government officials, other women also declaring themselves unmarried and SBCs to drive the free scooty. Meanwhile, the officials responsible for execution of the ambitious government plan said more care will be taken so that the scheme is not misused and only the eligible girls get the benefit.
