Flip-flop in Mulayam's proposal; NO job for rape victims !

Lucknow, Jan 30: Samajwadi Party chief, Mulayam Singh Yadav, who landed in a controversy overnight over his proposal for rape victims, surprised all on Monday, Jan 30 when he claimed that his statement was purported. Singh on Monday claimed that he did not offer government jobs to the rape victims in Uttar Pradesh.

Clarifying his stand, Singh said that his original statement was - "Investigations will be ordered against the murderers and rapists and they will be sent to jail. We will help the rape victims and will give them jobs." [Read: Mulayam promises govt jobs to rape victims]

Singh faced tremendous criticism over his proposal where he was quoted as saying, "The incidents of rape will be checked effectively and government jobs will be given to rape victims or one of their family members in the state."

Congress, BJP and other political parties criticised Singh's proposal saying that his offer shows how crime has gripped Uttar Pradesh where Mayawati has been continuing her reign since past several years.
