Delhi Metro
New Delhi, Jan 29: A 4-year-old boy, Aditya was lucky in averting death while his mother, Neerma fell on the rail track while boarding on the Delhi Metro to Vaishali. The incident, which later was termed as a minor accident, took place at Rajiv Chowk station in the national capital on Saturday, Jan 28.

Security guards were injured when they tried to save the child and his mother. However, contradictory reports have been coming out as Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) claimed that the guards warned the family before entering the Metro as its doors were closing at the time of the incident.

Meanwhile, Rajesh Seth, the husband of the woman, said, "One guard saved my son by pulling him out and, in the process, got injured. The other saved my wife."

The incident clearly raised questions about the security provided by DMRC as the train's sensors failed to detect the boy. According to an eyewitness, who does not reveal his identification, the accident happened as the family was confused and lost the track while boarding the heavy rushed train.

DMRC spokesperson issued a statement stating, "The family was boarding the train to Vaishali when the doors closed and the child got stuck between the gates, partially inside the coach and partially hanging outside. Two guards saw the child hanging out dangerously and started chasing the moving train to save him. In that effort, one guard injured himself."
