"We are trying to find the parents of the child. It's very clear that the girl who brought the child to the hospital is not her mother or relative. The girl says that a man brought the baby to her. We are looking for Rajkumar. He is an important link to this case. No body has come forward yet to claim the baby," said Ajay Chaudhary, Additional Commissioner of Police (South East Delhi).
Dr MC Mishra, chief of AIIMS Trauma Centre has been quoted as saying, "She will need few more days to recover. There is no deterioration to her condition, hence we are hopeful that she will recover if not completely."
Dr Sumit Sinha of AIIMS said that "She is more or less stable. There has been no deterioration to her health conditions. Pulse rate is slightly high which is a worry, otherwise she is responding to our medication. She is moving her limbs slightly. There are some NGOs who have approached us, but she is under medication so things have not proceeded. About 30-40 per cent survive with such injuries. There are no evidences of sexual abuse."
