Republic Day celebrated in Tamil Nadu

Jayalalithaa gave away gallantry awards to persons, including late K Anbalagan, Leading Fireman, who was killed earlier this month while trying to douse a fire at a building here. His daughter received the Anna Medal for Gallantry from the chief Minister.
Floats by Army and IAF, dance programmes by school children were the other attractions at the Republic Day celebrations held at the Marina here attended by many including top officials from the armed forces, police and diplomats.
