AP CM 20 mins late; flight delays, passengers suffer

Hyderabad, Jan 25: Bengaluru-bound Indigo Airlines' passengers on Thursday had to suffer 20-minutes delay as Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and his retinue were late to catch the flight.

Indigo Airlines informed about the delay and claimed that they changed the rules due to the misleading information given by the chief minister's staff.

“Most of the CM’s entourage or associates heading for Bengaluru had already boarded the plane. His liaison officer kept on misinforming us that he had reached the airport and would be there in just two minutes,” said an airline official. He said that two minutes extended to 20 minutes.

However, the airline rules prohibit delay in departure even for VVIPs also but this time it happened.

According to sources, passengers were annoyed and a formal announcement was made quoting that CM was “apologetic” about the inconvenience caused to the passengers.
