West Bengal to undergo face lift? Mamata to paint town green

Mamata Banerjee
Kolkata, Jan 23: Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee has apparently taken a vow to paint whatever the Communist party has painted in red to green, the party's official colour, said reports.

According to a report, the transport department has also changed the colours of the buses from red to blue and white.

"We are contemplating repainting all the government buses," said Madan Mitra, state transport minister.

The step comes after the Mamata government decided to turn Kolkata into London. The road dividers in Kolkata have also been painted green.

Sources reveal that the party also instructed that the green chairs be used at all government functions instead of red, a dominant colour used by the Left during their regime, said a report in India Today.

Green lights have also replaced the lighting at the Howrah railway station after the Trinamool Congress came into power.
