Anna warns against using his name,pic in electoral campaigns

New Delhi, Jan 22: Social activist and anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare has made it clear that either his picture or name should not be used by any political parties campaigns and manifestos in five poll-bound states.

Earlier, on last June a resolution was passed at Ralegan Siddhi but after receiving complaints that Hazare’s images are being used for electoral campaigns, the veteran Gandhian decided to appeal once again.

On Jan 21, Anna Hazare, through his lawyer Milind Pawar, has warned that his picture or name should not be used either in the manifesto-es or for campaigning.

Moreover, Pawar also said that any candidates and party are found using Hazare’s name or image in the electioneering process, legal action would be taken against them.
