They will kickstart their campaign from Uttarakhand on Jan 21. It has also been reported that they will focus their campaign in Uttar Pradesh and spend a major part of Feb in the state. They have however reiterated that they will not ask people to vote or not vote for a particular party. They will only stress and sensitize people on the need for a strong Lokpal Bill.
A spokesperson for Team Anna commented, "During these tours, the response of various parties to the movement and their stand on Lokpal Bill would be told to the people. People would be encouraged to ask all parties whether they would bring a strong Lokayukta Bill. The movement would not ask people to vote in favour or against any particular party. It would be left to their wisdom."
Team Anna will tour Uttarakhand for 3 days till Jan 23, which will be followed by Punjab for 2 days on Jan 24 and 25. They will then return to Uttarakhand on Jan 27 and 28. The spokesperson added, "The month of February has been primarily dedicated to Uttar Pradesh elections, which Team Anna would visit from February 2nd till February 25."
The tour program is expected to coincide with the different phases of elections in UP.
The campaign will then move to Goa on Feb 28, 19 and on Mar 1. The spokesperson speaking about the plans said, "The nitty-gritties of the visit like the cities which Team Anna would visit, the members visiting the rallies, etc are yet to be finalized. The campaign meetings in different cities are being organized by small committees that are being formed especially for this purpose."
