Youngest Microsoft professional Arfa passes away

Lahore, Jan 16: Arfa Karim Randhawa, the world's youngest Microsoft certificate professional has passed away on Sunday after suffering from epileptic seizures.

Randhawa was admitted to a military hospital in Lahore after epileptic seizures was diagnosed that caused brain damage on Dec 22.

"Arfa was hospitalised in a critical condition with meagre chances of survival because of a severe attack of idiopathic epilepsy fits.

There were almost no signs of life as neither her heart was functioning nor blood was circulating to the brain," said Zafar Iqbal, senior neurosurgeon.

"It is hard to bear the loss but I request the people of Pakistan to help fulfil her dreams in the education sector," said Amjad Karim, her father.

After completing her MCP, she achieved the position of Microsoft professional at the age of 9.

She is a girl who received several awards and gold medals from Public and private institutions for her achievements.

In 2004, Randhawa was invited by Bill Gates to visit his company's headquarter in US. The world's richest man offered her to bear the expenses of her treatment in America but due to her poor health she couldn't be taken to abroad.

Pakistan used social networking sites to pay tribute to the youngest Microsoft professional.
