Massive Fire breaks out in Chennai near Marina beach, 1 dead

Chennai, Jan 16: A massive fire broke out in a government housing building situated near Marina beach. At least one has been feared dead while three people have been injured in the accident on Monday, Jan 16.

The fire broke out at around 12:30 am. More than 15 fire engines rushed to the spot and tried to control fire with the help of 150 fire brigade officials. Rescue operation is still on.

The deceased has been identified as K Anbazhagan and the three injured people are - Priya Ravichandran, Murugan and Prabhakaran.

The injured have been taken to a near by hospital for better treatment. One of the injured reportedly received 50 percent burns.

According to sources, important files related with Department of Industries and Commerce and Social Welfare have been destroyed in the massive fire. The reason behind the fire is yet to be known.
