Forest Min Ganesh Kumar sacked by Kerala Cong chief

Last week, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had met with Pillai and demanded the dismissal of Kumar. On Saturday, there was a top party leaders' meeting, which was scheduled to begin at 11 am, but started at 10.30 am instead. The meeting was to elect the new officeholders, but the selection was already done before Kumar's arrival.
Pillai launched an attack on Kumar for using the party as a ladder to reach the ministerial post and later ignoring it after gaining the position. Other leaders also launched their attack on Kumar. Kumar tried to give a clarification, but Pillai dissolved the meeting.
After facing attacks from the party members, Kumar said that he could win the election as an independent candidate without his party's support.
"He (Pillai) has told the media that a decision on the ministership (continuance) will be taken in two weeks. Let him decide. I'm ready to step down if the party demands it," said Kumar.
