CBI to send Bhanwari Devi's remains to the FBI in US
According to the officials, the results are likely to come up soon in the case, so as to ascertain if the remains found are of Bhanwari or not.
"It will establish whether the teeth and bones we have recovered are of Bhanwari Devi's or not," said a senior officer.
After a major breakthrough in the case, the CBI had recovered several items that included a wrist watch, a gunny bag, pieces of jewellery, toe ring, five teeth, two country made guns, charred bone pieces, wooden bat and some clothes that are believed to be of Kailash Jakhar, the main accused in the case, who allegedly disposed off her remains in a canal.
Though the CFSL has conducted an examination on the recovered items, the FBI's inclusion in the case is only to ascertain the authenticity of the recovered items.
The CBI has also recorded the statements of Bhanwari's driver, Farooq in the case.
Bhanwari Devi had gone missing from Bilara, Rajasthan on Sept 1 after it was alleged that the reason behind her disappearance was an alleged sex CD that featured her and Mahipal Maderna, sacked Water Resources Minister in a compromising position.
