US Marines urinating video: Probe ordered

Washington, Jan 13: White House spokesperson Jay Carney reacted to the outrage that broke out over the US Marines' video saying that it was deplorable and unacceptable.

Youtube and some other websites had shown the video in which four US Marines were seen urinating over several Taliban corpses.

“While we have not yet verified the origin or authenticity of this video, the actions portrayed are not consistent with our core values and are not indicative of the character of the Marines in our Corps. This matter will be fully investigated," said a statement from the Marine Corps.

US military officials said that the video appeared to be authentic at first look. Meanwhile, a US-based Muslims civil rights group has written a letter to Defense Secretary, Leon Panetta condemning the US Marines' act.
