Bangalore, Jan 13: IT giant Infosys' recruitment figures in the quarterly financial results shows that there won't be a massive increase in hiring in the coming months.

According to Infosys' financial results announced in Jan 12 for Dec, 2011, the company has a gross hiring of 9,665 in Q3 over Q2 in Sept quarter when it had hired 15,352 employees.

The report further says that Infosys lost 6,389 employees in the current quarter and as a result, the net addition remains at 3,266 employees which is 60 per cent less than 8,262 employees added in the previous quarter. The net hiring was even lower than 5,311 people in the same quarter previous year, showing a (YoY) dip of 38 per cent.

Sources said that Infosys' campus recruitment had decreased in the current quarter as the company hired only 5,792 freshers for the quarter ending Dec 2011 against 13,034 freshers hired in quarter ending Sept 2011.

Reacting to the recruitment figures in quarterly results, Industry experts said that quarterly variation in employment data is no indication of slowdown in recruitment.

Meanwhile, Infosys has 1,45,088 employees as of Dec 31, 2011. However, the company is targeting to hire 45,000 persons in this fiscal.
