Pooja Gandhi jumps into political bandwagon; to join JD(S)?

Bangalore, Jan 13: After Sandalwood actress Ramya's foray into politics, it is the turn of another actress to jump into the bandwagon and that is Pooja Gandhi. JD(S) is all set to welcome the young actress under their fold. Her visit to the JD(S) office on Thursday evening reveled her intention to join the JD(S).

Jyothi Reddy, President, JD(S) women’s wing had invited Pooja to attend the function organized by the party on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The event had twin purpose; that of introducing Pooja to the JD(S) leaders and as well as adding glamour to the event.

Jyothi Reddy, "I had attended Pooja’s programme to help people with HIV. I had advised her to take JD(S)’s help to aid people in need. I had also advised her to join the JD(S). She told me she would think it over."

JD(S) chief Kumaraswamy had advised Pooja to wait for an “appropriate day” to join the party. Jyothi commented, "Pooja will join JD(S) after Sankranti. The date of joining will be decided only after consulting party supremo H D Deve Gowda and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy."

Another senior JD(S) leader, C Narayanaswamy on Pooja's admission to the JD(S) said that the decision on the same can be made only after consultations with Gowda and Kumaraswamy. He said, "As of now, Pooja Gandhi is not a member of JD(S). She visited our party office as a guest to attend the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda." Pooja refused to make any comments on the turn of events.
