Cong accuses Punjab govt of misusing vigilance dept

Punjab
Chandigarh, Jan 12: The Punjab government has been accused by the state Congress party of using the state machinery in transporting black money to pay Congress rebels and in the election campaign.

Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh has written to the election commission regarding the issue.

After naming the SSP of the state vigilance bureau, Singh accused him of acting as the SAD-BJP election agent.

The former Chief Minister of Punjab requested to ensure free and fair election in the state by not plying vigilance vehicles.

The election commission would ask the paramilitary forces to check police vehicles for the black money as the forces are reaching Punjab on Thursday, sources said to Headlines Today.
