Dalit leader's murder impacts bus services in Tamil Nadu

Some unidentified people on Tuesday hacked a Dalit leader Pasupathi Pandian, founder of Devendra Kula Velalar Kootamaippu (Federation) at Nandavanapatti area in Dindigul district, police said. After the incident, some unidentified miscreants were involved in stone pelting and destroyed many buses and private vehicles.
After closely monitoring the situation, bus services were resumed in many districts but the buses were late for two hours.
Meanwhile, after the postmortem at Dindigul Government Hospital, the body of Pandian (50) was taken to Talamuthonagar.
Official said that a special team had been formed to arrest the gang who killed the leader. He even said that the bus services to sensitive areas has been cancelled. Police official added that gang escaped as there was power cut in the area.
