UP Polls: Mayawati's statues to be clothed today
The Election Commission had earlier ordered that the stautes of the CM and the ruling party's symbol be covered keeping in mind the upcoming assembly poll elections.
"I have got the EC orders and it will be fully executed tomorrow (Monday)," said Anil Sagar, Lucknow District Magistrate earlier.
The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is likely to carry out all the work.
Sources reveal that some statues of elephants-BSP's symbol at Gomti Nagar, Lucknow were covered on Sunday, Jan 8, though some BSP members removed the veil minutes after they were covered and left the place.
The order has been called as "one-sided and against natural justice" by the BSP.
Meanwhile, SY Quraishi, the chief election commisioner said that the directive be implemented "at the earliest" as it was concerned with the moral code of conduct.
