Rupee declines by 13 paise against US dollar in early trade

The domestic currency had notched up a gain of 27 paise to close at a nearly two-week high of Rs 52.71/72 against the dollar in the previous session on Friday amid fresh dollar-selling by exporters.
Dealers said a subdued opening in the equity market and dollar gains against the euro on worries about Europe's debt crisis, besides losses registered by other Asian currencies against the greenback overseas mainly weighed on the rupee sentiment. The BSE Sensex fell by 90.19 points, or 0.57 per cent, to 15,758.61 in opening trade today.
