Goa Polls: Congress-NCP alliance to be declared this week

Panaji, Jan 9: A senior leader on Monday said that the Congress and NCP would announce their alliance for the upcoming assembly election candidates this week.

Subhash Shirodkar, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president said, the announcement of the alliance would be declared in Delhi, where the leaders of the both parties are working on that.

"We are holding discussion with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the alliance," a senior MGP leader said.

"Congress is meeting to finalise their candidates on January 13. It is at that time, the announcement is expected to be made," NCP Goa state Chief Surendra Sirsat said.

Shirodhkar said that the party leaders will discuss the seat sharing formula.

Over 40 assembly constituencies are there for Goa assembly elections which has been scheduled for polls on March 3.
