Alleging corruption senior BSP leader resigns from party

Mayawati
Barabanki, Jan 9: A senior BSP leader and former chairman of the state minority commission Gyasuddin Kidwai has resigned from the party. He has alleged that the party's image has been dented due to corruption.

Kidwai, who had joined BSP about 15 years ago, has sent his resignation letter to party president Mayawati yesterday. Targeting PWD minister Naseemuddin Siddiqui in his letter Kidawai has alleged that the minister has amassed huge wealth in a very short period, and it has sent a wrong message in public.

"How have people like Naseemuddin Siddiqui become so wealthy in such a short time. These people themselves do not have a reply to this," Kidwai said.

"Such things have sent a wrong message among the people and the image of the government has been damaged," Kidwai said, adding that under these circumstances it was not possible for him to seek votes for the BSP. Kidwai said that he has requested the BSP chief to accept his resignation immediately.
