Tamil Nadu: Wife burns hubby alive over extra-marital affair

Chennai, Jan 8: In a shocking incident, a woman burnt her husband with hot oil on Friday, Jan 6. The incident took place in Salem, Tamil Nadu. It has been reported that the wife suspected her husband that he ditched her after being into an extra-marital affair.

32-year-old Chitra poured hot oil on 35-year-old Periyasamy when he sleeping their house. Sources said that they had a quarrel following which Chitra took the dangerous step.

Hearing Periyasamy's cry for help, neighbours rushed into their house and took him to a near by hospital for treatment. Police, however, filed a case of attempt to murder and arrested Chitra.

Hospital authorities informed that the husband suffered 70 percent burning and is still in serious condition.
