Police to file FIR against Anil Kumble?

Anil Kumble
Bangalore, Jan 6: Karnataka High Court on Friday, Jan 6 issued a notice to Bharathinagar Police Station, Bangalore seeking explanation for their inactiveness in filing a First Information Report (FIR) against former cricketer and present President of Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), Anil Kumble based on a complaint by his wife's ex-husband for allegedly forging his signature to obtain passport for his stepdaughter.

Earlier, on Jan 5, Jagirdar, ex-husband of Kumble's wife Chetana had moved the Karnataka High Court asking a direction to police to file an FIR against Kumble. The petition claimed that the police has not registered an FIR on his complaint lodged on Dec 26, 2011.

According to media reports, Kumble impersonated his wife's ex-husband though his name has been mentioned as father in the passport with devised signature to mislead the passport authorities.

Moreover, the complaint claimed that despite a Supreme Court judgement, which gave joint guardianship of his daughter in the year 2004, Kumble and Chetana went ahead to apply for a passport with a forged signature. Meanwhile, Aaruni, born to Chetana and Jagirdar, lives with her mother and Kumble.
