Indian Kids in Norway, MEA initiates talks with the country

Norway
New Delhi, Jan 6: The Indian government has expressed its dissension with the Norway authorities over the separation of two Indian kids from their parents claiming that they were not brought up well. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) have entered into a dialogue with the Norwegian Child Protection Services (CPS) over the issue..

It was with the intervention of President Pratibha Patil, the MEA took up the matter with the Norway government.

The authorities had taken away the kids of a Kolkata couple - Anurup Bhattacharya and Sagarika last year on the grounds that the mother was not taking care of the children properly.

Meanwhile, the Norwegian authority claimed that the agency will return the kids on assurance of proper parenting by the couple. The agency is also believed to be taking the matter to court as to prove that the Indian couple are inept in raising the children.
