New Delhi, Jan 6: New Delhi, Jan 6: It seems that Delhiites are not yet ready to accept homosexuality or any exhibition promoting it. A gay painter from Uttar Pradesh, Balbir Krishan was physically assaulted in the national capital on Thursday, Jan 5.

Krishnan claimed that he was attacked by few unidentified assailants after completing a solo exhibition at Lalit Kala Academy in Delhi.

The attackers, according to Krishnan, stated that the artist's works hurt religious sentiments and was provocative. The attackers also allegedly threatened Krishnan of experiencing similar kind of situation to late painter and artist MF Hussain who was banished from the country following his controversial art.

Krishnan could not identify the attackers as they (assailants) attacked him from behind. Police haven't found any evidence against the attackers as the CCTV at the venue was dead on Thursday.
