Reports reveal that the fire broke out first in the generator room upstairs. The evacuation process is on and at least 75 patients have been rushed to neighbouring hospitals. Three fire tenders were rushed to the spot after the fire department was alerted of the incident.
The fire broke out in the afternoon, which resulted in traffic congestion at Bellary Road as evacuation process was on.
Earlier on Dec 9, 2011 a major fire had broke out at the AMRI Hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal which claimed many lives, most of them being patients unable to run for their lives.
