CPI releases second list of candidates

Lucknow, Jan 5: The Communist Party of India (CPI) today released the second list of 15 more candidates for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls. The party had earlier released a list of 30 candidates and with the second list the party has so far fielded 45 candidates, CPI state secretary Dr Girish said.

"The party will release list of other candidates in the next few days," he said. It is open to alliance with secular parties, he said, adding that "we are contesting polls with other left parties in the state." Rampant corruption, deteriorating law and order and unemployement will be the main issues that CPI will concentrate on, he added.
