AP: Obesity drives techie to commit suicide

K Chandrasekhar of Vijayawada, 35-year-old, got married three years back and the couple were staying at Hemdurga Plaza in Miyapur.
Due to his obesity, Chandrasekhar had been undergoing ayurvedic treatment, but failed to yield any results. He was staying alone for a month as his wife Prabhavati, who is pregnant had gone to his parent's house.
On Tuesday, he returned back home at around 8.30 pm with a bottle of petrol and locked his door. "He doused himself with petrol and set himself ablaze. Neighbours who noticed the smoke billowing out of the house, broke the window glass and found Chandrasekhar engulfed in flames," said G Sreekanth, Miyapur SI.
Neighbours, in rescue, poured water through the window and tried to enter the house by opening the door latch. Chandrasekhar was declared dead at the spot, the SI added.
The Police, however, didn't found any suicide note. "Chandrasekhar did not leave any suicide note, but we found a few papers containing his random views about religion and women. We also came to know that as the Ayurvedic treatment did not work, Chandrasekhar went into depression. We suspect that he might have committed suicide due to depression," the SI said.
