1992 sex racket: Blackmailer arrested, school girls relieved

Jaipur, Jan 4: 42-year-old Saiyed Saleem Chishty, who has been accused of blackmailing more than 100 school girls over a sex racket, has been arrested on Tuesday, Jan 3. He is expected to be produced before the court in Ajmer on Wednesday.

The special branch of Rajasthan police - Special Operations Group (SOG) is believed to have cracked the 20-year-old case which wrecked the lives of many girls.

Kapil Garg, Additional Director General of Police (SOG) has been quoted as saying, "Chisty is an accused in the 1992 case of blackmailing some school girls in Ajmer. The victims were lured into coming to farm houses on the outskirts of the town at different times. They were sexually exploited and photographs with their being in compromising positions were shot by a gang of criminals."

"Chishty, who was one of the men who blackmailed these girls, carried a cash reward of Rs. 25,000 on his head. We came to know that he was hiding in Ajmer. A trap was laid and he was nabbed on Tuesday morning," added the officer.

Police laid the trap and arrested Chisty after receiving a tip-off.
