Bhopal gas tragedy victims to sit on strike from today

Several Non Government Organisations (NGOs) have been fighting for justice to the victims since last 25 years. The members of the NGOs accused the state government of not doing required corrections in the figures despite promises made by the Chief Minister, Shivraj Shingh Chouhan.
Meanwhile, the government has assured the survivors that concerned officials will meet the additional solicitor general of Madhya Pradesh on Jan 6 to discuss the changes in figures of damage caused by gas leak at the Union Carbide plant in Bhopal on Dec 3-4 night of 1984.
The survivors of the gas tragedy are also demanding dropping of false criminal charges against Bhopal gas victims and the setting up of an independent and impartial investigation as assured by the Chief Minister of the state.
