Indians not safe in China, diplomat attacked in court

After arguing in a case for two Indians - Deepak Raheja and Shyamsunder Agrawal, who have been held as hostages by local people, Balachandran was "manhandled" outside the court.
The two Indians have been held as they were accused of not paying the dues which they owed to the eastern business hub of Yiwu. The duo were kidnapped two weeks back and the attacked Indian diplomat was arguing on their behalf in the court on Dec 31.
Balachandran fainted after being assaulted by the crowd in front of the judges and police. The group of the Chinese traders also prevented the two hostages from going out of the court with the Indian diplomat. The incident, however, shows that Indians are not at all safe in China.
