Chennai: Tamil TV actress nabbed for online sex trade

Chennai, Dec 26: A Tamil TV serial actress and a dancer in the film industry were arrested in Coimbatore for their alleged involvement in an online sex racket operated by a husband-wife team.

Police claimed that they have arrested a Tamil serial actress and a group dancer in the film industry, along with three other women in a raid on Dec 24 night. All women are suspected to have links with flesh trade rackets operating in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The main kingpin of the online sex racket, Kovai Balaji alias N Balaji, 37 was also arrested in the raid at the Coimbatore house. Balaji reportedly used internet to operate the sex racket and uploaded his multiple mobile numbers on several porn and escort services websites for his clients across south India.

The police refused to divulge more details about the arrested actress. They further said that all transactions from appointments to clients' payments were operated through online. The actress has been currently lodged at government women's protection home in Sanganoor, Chennai.
