Indonesia: Tsunami victim turns up after 7-years
Media reports claimed that Wati was eight when the tsunami hit Aceh and she lost grip of her mother's arm, after which she went missing for long. Wati's family had made several attempts to find her. On Dec 21, her grandfather Ibrahim came across a young girl who was looking for her home.
Sources claimed that he met her at a coffee shop where she was sitting alone and trying find her home. She reportedly had very little information to guide her, except for one name -- Ibrahim.
Meanwhile, the girl's parents rushed to the scene and identified the girl as their daughter after seeing a distinctive mole and a scar on her elbow that caused when she was six-years-old.
The tsunami that hit the coast of Aceh on Dec 26, 2004 was triggered by the world's most powerful earthquake in 40 years. The tsunami hit more than 10 countries. Nearly 170,000 people were killed and almost 130,000 went missing in the deadly catastrophe.
