Anna's jail bharo call finds supporters; 16,000 and counting

New Delhi, Dec 23: With Anna Hazare's anti-corruption campaign gaining steam, his call for the 'Jail Bharo' movement has gained enthusiastic supporters. Within hours of the

launched by India Against Corruption (IAC) for the same, 12,000 people have registered for the campaign.

The move initiated by IAC is seeing people from different states joining in the protests. The site specifically made for the purpose sees a classification of entries state wise as well as city wise. Popular Team Anna member Kiran Bedi tweeted welcoming supporters to the cause that said, "B a Freedom fighter against corruption Register for Jail bharo. Sms to 575758 or call 07303150500."

The count till 2:57 pm is 16,088 with the numbers increasing every second. With Anna Hazare determined for an effective Lokpal Bill, they had rejected the government's draft of the same. Anna is all set to kickstart his three-day fast on Dec 27 with the jail bharo to be flagged off from Dec 30.

With some preliminary confusions regarding the fast venue, Team Anna has finally decided on Mumbai's Azad Maidan as the protest site.
