MP: Infosys unlikely to be allotted land by Dec 31

The state cabinet was supposed to discuss the matter on Dec 20, but it was removed from the agenda as it did not receive the necessary clearance from all the concerned departments.
Meanwhile, the proposal for allotting land to Infosys by the state government has been approved by its Finance Department. But housing and environment department is still to give approval on allotting land to the IT major.
Though the Indore Development Authority(IDA) has sent a report regarding availability of land to be allotted to Infosys, confusion still persists. Sources said that very few farmers are ready to hand over their land to Infosys to set up the super corridor.
Sources also said that if the Housing and Environment Departments give its approval, it will be presented before the next cabinet meeting scheduled to be held on Dec 28 for final decision. Taking those issues into concern, it looks increasingly unlikely that the state government could honour the Dec 31 deadline for handing over land to the IT major.
