Chennai: Madrasa teacher sodomises minor, arrested

Chennai, Dec 22: A Madarasa teacher has been arrested by the police for 'immoral sex' after it came to light that he sodomised his 11-year-old student.

Reports reveal that the 11-year-old student, a class sixth student was sodomised by Mohammad Mehtab Alam, a Madrasa teacher.

The student on Dec 19 complained of rectal pain after he came back home from his classes.

After the pain became unbearable, the student's grandfather Hussain Basha took him to the hospital, where the doctor found out that the boy's rectum was ruptured suspecting he was sodomised.

A complaint was then lodged with the Anna Salai police on Monday, Dec 19.

After investigations, it was revealed that the boy was asked by his professor to stay back after classes and then raped.

The teacher has been booked under Section 377 and has been remanded to judicial custody.
