PM's commandos manhandle BSP MP; Govt says 'sorry'

Following the incident, the angry members of BSP and Samajwadi Party launched a strong protest in Lok Sabha over the brusque manner in which the SPG commandos had been dealing with MPs and created uproar in house, for which speaker Kariya Munda adjourned the House till 2 pm.
Demanding a through probe into the issue and action against those found guilty, BSP leader Dara Singh Chauhan said, "In the name of providing security to the Prime Minister, Members of Parliament are being insulted day in and day out. It is an insult to this august House."
Later, when the house reassembled for post-lunch session, Finance Minister and leader of the Lok Sabha, Pranab Mukherjee apologised on behalf of the government for the unfortunate incident. "To ensure that such incidents don't happen in future, some institutional arrangement can be made. Let this matter be settled," said the Finance Minister.
