Ramdev booked for defamatory booklet against Sonia, Rahul

Akola, Dec 19: A complaint against Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has been lodged by a local Congress leader on the grounds that defamatory booklets against Congress President Sonia Gandhi and AICC General secretary Rahul Gandhi were distributed during his ongoing camp in Akola, Maharashtra, said police.

The complaint has been filed by Madan Bhargad, Akola Congress Chief, who said that the 18-page booklet contained objectionable material against Sonia and Rahul Gandhi.

The charges were however, rubbished by Maharashtra in-charge of the Patanjali Yogpeeth, founded by Baba Ramdev. The in-charge said that neither the trust nor the yoga guru were any way related with the controversy around the booklet.

He alleged that it was an attempt to defame Baba Ramdev. The matter is being further probed by the police.

Baba Ramdev began his three-day yoga camp on Saturday, Dec 17 in Akola.
